TGIF, readers! We’re as happy as a clam that it’s finally Friday, and to prove it to you we’re bringing you the biggest and best news from all your favorite distributors. This week we turn the spotlight on our friends from Ingram Micro (IM), Tech Data (TECD) and Avnet (AVT).

Ingram Micro: Cyberdefense technology vendor Secure Channels announced a partnership with Ingram Micro to provide the distributor’s global IT security resellers with access to its entire portfolio of encryption technologies and IT security solutions.

Ingram resellers will have access to all of Secure Channel’s products through the partnership, including encryption solutions for enterprise networks and small businesses, mobility platforms and database systems, according to the announcement.

“Ingram Micro is one of the largest and most trusted names in information technology and we’re delighted to join forces with them to provide cutting-edge security technology to protect the networks of Global 2000 companies served by their resellers,” said Richard Blech, president and CEO of Secure Channels, in a statement. “This partnership provides Secure Channels with new avenues to expand and grow, while giving midsized networks the security technology advantage they need to stop security threats from wreaking havoc on their networks.”

Tech Data: Tech Data and InnoviMobile announced an exclusive partnership to offer mobile application development for smartphones, tablets and wearables to reseller partners in the United States through the distributor’s Mobile Solutions and Retail division. The agreement will allow Tech Data to sell InnoviMobile’s portfolio through the channel at flat fees using SKUs, according to the announcement.

“Mobile app development is an untapped segment of the market for distribution, providing a great opportunity for Tech Data and its resellers,” said Patrick Stokes, senior vice president of Mobility Solutions and Retail at Tech Data. “We believe that a significant opportunity exists for the VAR community to generate more revenue from every Tech Data mobile device sale by bundling high-margin mobile development services.”

Avnet: Avnet reported its third-quarter fiscal results for FY 2015 this week, with the distributor reporting a 7 percent organic sales increase and a reported sales increase of 0.8 percent. The distributor also saw slight gains in adjusted operating income margin and adjusted net income of 3 percent and 0.4 percent, respectively.

Avnet Electronics Marketing reported similar gains with a constant currency increase of 3.7 percent in the Americas, with Avnet Technology Solutions growing 4.9 percent in constant currency for the same geography.

Avnet’s Q3 2015 ended March 28.

“I believe our team has done a good job navigating the continuing environment of mixed signals among various business and economic indicators, including the significant strengthening of the U.S. dollar during our March quarter,” said Avnet CEO Rick Hamada. “Despite the understandable questions about growth in this current environment, we have thus far not seen any material changes to demand trends as reflected on our dashboards.”
