IRVINE, CA–(Marketwired – Jul 13, 2015) – Secure Channels Inc., the Technology Innovators™, today announced that it has named Henry B. Hotz as CTO and Chief Architect and Laurence Socci as Government Affairs Liaison. Reporting directly to CEO Richard Blech, both will play instrumental roles as the company raises the bar on new technology development, and accentuates its commitment to delivering much-needed, patented strong encryption and authentication solutions to the government market.
“We are excited to add Henry to our organization with his great wealth of experience and capabilities in the field of cryptography and science. His background and credentials draw a straight line to fulfilling our new PROXiMITTER™ project and bringing it to market along with developing our novel products and solutions,” said Blech.
Hotz will also be the principal architect for the company’s SCI Enterprise Key Management solution, providing cryptographically sound integration of multiple identity protocols, which can interoperate with all major existing identity infrastructures, and can integrate with existing identity management processes.
Hotz graduated from Occidental College with a Math/Physics double major and began his career at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He earned a Master’s degree from University of Southern California. He designed the 2-factor authentication system used by the Mars Science Laboratory ground system, and standardized a non-proprietary method of using Kerberos to acquire Public-Key credentials through the IETF called KX509. KX509 is currently in use within the supercomputing Grid community.
As the impact of relentless cyber breaches against governments and the organizations that support them continue to proliferate, Socci fills a key role as Secure Channels Inc. provides advanced cyber defense solutions and expertise to assist the government in protecting their digital assets.
Socci is a government affairs and communications expert with twenty years of experience representing clients before Congress and federal agencies. His government affairs expertise spans the full range of influence.
“Laurence is an essential addition to our growing team of industry experts and he’s a strategic fit for Secure Channels as we establish an increasingly bigger, more visible presence with government agencies at the federal level,” explained Blech.
Socci has a Bachelor’s degree in political science from Wilkes University and a Jurist Doctorate degree from Howard University School of Law. He is the author of The Art of Lobbying the Federal Government, has written many articles on lobbying strategy and is currently working on a book about lobbying and political law.
